Privacy

To open an account we ask for:

• —Your email address, which is also how you sign in.
• —A display name, which other players see.
• —Your home state, so the contests we show you first are ones you could drive to.
• —Confirmation that you are 18 or over, and that you accept the terms. We record which version of the terms you accepted and when.

Optionally, and only if you choose to give them:

• —Your city.
• —Your home track.

We do not ask a regular account for your legal name, street address, date of birth, or phone number. If you sign up as an affiliate — a separate, optional step — we additionally collect your legal name, address, and payout handle, because commission is income and has to be attributable to a real person.

Using the product also creates records: the contests you create, the entries and picks you submit, results you post as a host, and rows on your credit ledger.

Your display name is public. It appears on leaderboards and standings for every contest you enter, and anyone with a link to that contest can see it, signed in or not. Choose it accordingly.

Your email, home state, city, and home track are never shown to other players.

• —Running contests: scoring your entries, showing standings, and telling hosts who has entered.
• —Notifying you about contests you are in — when a field is posted, when picks are about to lock, when a result changes.
• —Deciding which contests to show you first, from your home state.
• —Keeping the credit ledger correct, and answering you when you ask about it.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else for their own purposes. We do not run advertising or behavioural tracking of any kind.

Payments are processed by Paddle, acting as merchant of record. That means Paddle — not Crash Picks — is the seller for your purchase, and Paddle handles the payment, the tax, and the receipt.

We never see your card details. They are entered directly into Paddle's checkout and never reach our servers or our database. What we store about a purchase is: which package you bought, the amount and currency actually charged, the name of the processor, and an opaque reference that lets us match your payment to your credits if you ever query it.

Paddle handles your payment information under their own privacy policy, which governs what they collect at checkout.

We use cookies for one thing: keeping you signed in. They hold your session so the site knows who you are between page loads. Signing out clears them.

There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party trackers. We do not store anything in your browser's local storage.

Paddle sets its own cookies inside its checkout while you are paying.

Some of what we hold cannot be deleted without breaking other people's results, and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise.

Contest entries, picks, posted results, and credit ledger rows are permanent and append-only. A contest's standings are computed from every entry in it, so removing one person's entry would silently change what everyone else scored. Corrections are made by adding a new record, never by editing or deleting an old one.

Your account details — email, display name, state, city, home track — are kept for as long as your account exists.

Write to support@crashpicks.com from the address on the account and we will remove your personal details: your email, display name, home state, city, and home track, and your affiliate details if you had any.

What stays is the contest record described above. Where your display name would have appeared, it renders as “Removed”. The entries and ledger rows remain so that the standings of every contest you played in stay correct for the people who played alongside you.

You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct something that is wrong.
