Refunds

What credits are, the one case where they come back automatically, and what to do if something has gone wrong with a payment.

What credits are

Credits are a prepaid fee for access to the software. You buy them once and spend them entering contests. That is the whole of what they do.

  • They have no cash value.
  • They are non-transferable — they cannot be given, sold, or moved to another account.
  • They cannot be redeemed for cash, and there is no way to convert them back to money.
  • They never expire.

Credits are not currency and are not a deposit. Dollars buy credits; credits are consumed. There is no path in the other direction, and that is a property of how the system is built rather than a rule we choose to apply.

Credits are non-refundable

Once purchased, credits are not refundable. Buying them is buying access to the software, and that access is available to you from the moment the purchase completes.

There is one exception, below.

The exception: a contest that does not run

If a contest is cancelled or voided before its start time, every entrant is refunded the credits they spent entering it, in full, automatically.

You do not have to ask for it and nobody has to approve it. The credits go back at the moment the contest is voided, and the refund appears in your credit history as its own entry, pointing at the entry it reverses.

The refund returns credits, not money — the credits go back to your balance to spend on another contest.

After a contest has started, entry credits are not automatically refunded, because the contest has run and been scored. If something went genuinely wrong with an event, write to us and we will look at it.

Billing problems

Payments are handled by Paddle as merchant of record — they are the seller for your purchase, and the charge on your statement will be theirs rather than ours.

If a payment was taken and the credits did not arrive, if you were charged twice, or if you do not recognise a charge, write to support@crashpicks.com from the address on your account. Include the date and the amount, and the reference from your Paddle receipt if you have it — that lets us find the exact payment rather than guessing.

Every purchase and every grant is recorded against your account permanently, so a payment that did not turn into credits is something we can find and put right.
